Nutrient Load
and Batch Reconciliation

An as-applied map can show where a controller recorded values; it cannot by itself identify which physical fertilizer lot entered the machine, whether every load belonged to the approved plan, or where unused material went. Load reconciliation joins material custody to spatial execution.

Connect planned nutrients
to physical material and field evidence.

NRCS nutrient management treats source, rate, timing and placement as connected planning dimensions under locally applicable standards. Digital field records can support execution evidence, but neither the plan nor map alone proves the identity and balance of material handled.

The chain should begin at an authorized plan version, bind each issued lot or blend to a tender or machine load, preserve configuration and field identity, and reconcile applied, returned, held, lost and unexplained material without inventing precision.

Authorize, issue, load,
execute and close.

01AUTHORIZE / 01Freeze the executable planField and zone version, crop and operation, nutrient-source decision, rate and units only from qualified authority, timing and placement intent, restrictions, approver, equipment requirement and change gate
02ISSUE / 02Bind physical materialProduct, lot or blend and inventory location, quantity and units, issue time and operator, tender or transport identity, parent-child custody, document links and approved substitution
03EXECUTE / 03Preserve every load and field segmentLoad identity and measured quantity, machine and implement configuration, calibration or verification evidence, field entry, timestamps, controller file, interruption, overlap or gap, operator and deviation
04CLOSE / 04Reconcile plan, map and materialApplied estimate and method, remaining machine and tender material, return to identified inventory, cleanout or disposition authority, field coverage, plan variance, unexplained balance, review and corrections

Make every load a bridge
between inventory and map.

LOAD

Create durable load identity

Join source inventory, tender transfer, machine fill, field segment, operator, time, quantity method and remaining material.

UNIT

Keep units inspectable

Preserve mass, volume, density or concentration evidence and conversions with source, method, precision and uncertainty.

MAP

Treat maps as one evidence layer

Retain controller source, configuration, timestamps, coordinate reference, coverage and known gaps without claiming physical verification.

CLOSE

Reconcile exceptions

Separate planned, issued, loaded, controller-recorded, estimated applied, returned, lost, disposed and unexplained quantities before closure.

Reconciliation is not
a nutrient prescription.

No nutrient source, rate, timing, placement, calibration, handling or application direction is provided.Use current local plans, labels, qualified agronomists, equipment procedures and regulatory authority.

Controller data does not prove physical application.Preserve independent material, machine, field-observation and measurement evidence with uncertainty.

Do not return unidentified or contaminated material to ordinary inventory.Use governed hold and qualified disposition procedures.
